Maruti Suzuki has officially revealed the new Maruti Dzire 2024, which is set to launch on November 11. This fourth-generation compact sedan is specially designed for the Indian market, with upgraded engines, refined exteriors, premium interiors and advanced technology that outshines its predecessor.
New Maruti Dzire 2024: Dimensions and Exterior Design
The new Maruti Dzire maintains compact dimensions ideal for city driving, measuring 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,525mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,450mm and ground clearance of 163mm. Although similar in size to the outgoing model, the new Dzire stands 10mm taller.
The Dzire’s front end is completely redesigned, breaking away from its past resemblance to the Swift. It now sports a flat hood with subtle creases at the edges, and “crystal vision” headlamps with multiple crystal-like details and a stylish blacked-out surround. A larger hexagonal grille with six horizontal slats, topped with a piano black and chrome finish, showcases the Suzuki emblem. LED fog lamps are integrated in higher trims, enhancing visibility and style.
From the side, the new Maruti Dzire displays a smoother roofline and contoured panels. New door designs feature a gently rising shoulder line, and the alloy wheels come with a diamond-cut pattern for top variants, adding a touch of sophistication. The rear now includes squarish tail-lamps with “3D Trinity LED elements”, a modern chrome bar, and a refreshed bumper design for a stylish finish.
Interior Features and Technology in the New Dzire
While the Dzire’s exterior is unique, the interior borrows from the Swift with enhancements. The dashboard has a new four-shade layout exclusive to the Dzire, combining beige, dark brown accents, and faux wood trims with brushed aluminum details, creating a warm and elegant look.
Equipped with a 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus infotainment system, the Maruti Dzire offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with connected car features for a seamless experience. Notably, the Dzire introduces a factory-fitted sunroof—an industry first for a compact sedan under four meters. Additional highlights include cruise control, rear AC vents, a rear center armrest, and a 360-degree camera in premium variants.
On the safety front, Maruti Suzuki has made significant upgrades. The new Dzire offers six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and three-point seat belts for all seats. ISOFIX mounts and a standard rear defogger ensure safety across all variants.
Under the Hood: New Dzire Powered by Swift’s Z-Series Engine
The 2024 Maruti Dzire features the Z12E three-cylinder 1.2-liter petrol engine, introduced with the new Swift. This powertrain delivers 82hp and 111.7Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT automatic transmission. Notably, this engine also includes an idle start/stop feature to enhance fuel efficiency, and a CNG variant is anticipated shortly after launch.
Competitors: Dzire Takes on Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura
The new Maruti Dzire continues to compete in the Indian compact sedan market, facing direct rivals such as the Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura. With bookings open, the Dzire is expected to begin deliveries in the latter half of November, offering a premium, technology-rich driving experience in its segment.
Maruti’s all-new Dzire 2024 represents a blend of style, technology, and efficiency, making it a compelling choice for Indian sedan buyers.
